Mercantil’s work has been covered by Design Hunter México, ¡HOLA! México, Amazing Architecture and The New Mexico, and the studio’s founder has been interviewed on what it takes to source a whole house, or a whole hotel, from Mexican workshops. The features below are the published pieces; the projects behind them are in the portfolio.

Two stories come up again and again. The first is Casa Paros in Design Hunter — el lujo silencioso de lo hecho a mano — a Todos Santos villa where more than three-quarters of the materials came from within a short radius of the site. The second is Casa Blanca Sur, a beachfront retreat hotel at Cerritos brought back from four years empty, with interior design by Hillary Kent and purchasing by Mercantil.

What the coverage describes is the same practice we run on every job: FF&E procurement and sourcing through a network of 450+ artisans, hotel furniture built to brand standard, and custom cabinetry made to the millimetre.
